Villa Kalyana, which stands at the edge of the Royal Phuket Marina – a world-class yachting destination – is Phuket’s most exclusive address. Reserved for the privileged few with a deep love for boating, sailing and yachting especially in the waters of the Andaman Sea, this three-storey villa – attached to a two-storey wing – is a showcase not only of utmost comfort and convenience but also of A-class luxury and sophistication. Truly, a mere five-star rating for Villa Kalyana will be both an injustice and an understatement.
The villa has three master bedrooms. The first one occupies the entire ground floor of the two-storey wing. It has a living area that looks out to the swimming pool and to the marina. The main bedroom is surrounded by a pond and walls of glass. Another master bedroom is on the second floor of the same wing. The main bedroom opens out to a balcony overlooking the pool and the marina where you can lounge on the woven lightwood furnishings or at the covered swing. Here, you can also freshen up at the outdoor shower. Both master bedrooms have dedicated bathrooms with jacuzzis, dual rain showers, sinks and Japanese toilets. Each also its very own steam rooms. The last master bedroom is at the topmost floor of the main villa. It has a private terrace with a jacuzzi and two sun beds. The dedicated bathroom also has a jacuzzi as well as a rain shower, dual sinks and a Japanese toilet. All master bedrooms have king-sized beds.
There are also two guest rooms on the second floor of the main villa. Both open out to furnished terraces but with different scenic views. Each has a king-sized bed and a dedicated bathroom.
25 x 7m
The 25-meter – half the Olympic standard – seawater swimming pool is at the edge of the villa’s expansive property. Dive in and do laps in a medley of strokes. Pause for a breather at the other end where you can lounge at the two pool beds and under the covered Sala with Japanese seats. For cool refreshments, walk over to and have a seat at the garden’s island bar. Or, stretch out on the soft beds under the shade of the smaller adjacent Sala. Both are built on a mini-pool and look out to your yacht – docked at the villa’s 23-meter berth – out on the marina.
Indoors, at the ground floor of the main villa, is the living area defined by huge couches. Behind is the dining area with a round table good for ten. Another dining table is placed right at the middle of the fully-equipped, ultra-modern kitchen behind the glass counter. Provided with high chairs, this counter may also serve as a bar.
A staff of three members – including a chef – runs the villa. Housekeeping is done daily and security is round the clock. The villa also has a concierge who will attend to your every need or request. Laundry and massage services may be arranged. These, however, will be charged separately. A car and a van – with a driver – are for hire.
At the Royal Phuket Marina are leisure and shopping establishments built around landscaped parks and gardens. The waterfront promenade features high-end boutiques and specialty stores, restaurants, bars and a gourmet supermarket. The must-tries are Skippers Sports Bar and Restaurant as well as Les Anges Bakery. You can also break a sweat at RPM Health and Fitness then indulge in pampering treatments at Pearl Spa and Beauty. Then hop aboard a speedboat shuttle and head off to a private beach club at a nearby island.
