Villa Cattleya 5B is a two-level vacation residence that features the harmonious fusion of traditional Thai architecture and contemporary tropical elegance. Interiors are appointed with exquisitely crafted wood furnishings and fixtures with a few modern, luxurious and stylish pieces. Amenities are essentially of hotel and resort quality – for each and every guest’s full pampering and indulgence. Laid out on top of a hill rising from Patong Beach, Villa Cattleya 5B extends to you upscale living with a truly upland atmosphere.
The villa has two bedrooms on its lower level. One bedroom has a king-sized bed, while the other has twin beds. Both bedrooms have dedicated bathrooms with fitted bathtubs and rain showers. These bedrooms open out to a long, furnished balcony with picture-perfect seascape vistas.
Fringed by a wall – decorated with carvings of traditional subjects – beside the villa’s upper level is a plunge pool. Immerse yourself in its refreshing, glassy waters which seems to take you out to the Andaman Sea. Out of the water, you can stretch out on cushioned pool beds under the shade of the balcony. You’re also entitled to exclusive access to the L’Orchidee Residence complex – the estate to which the villa belongs – swimming pool which has a shallow kiddie portion.
Arranged indoors on the villa’s breezy second level is the living area. Around its three sitting set ups – one of which is in front of a wall-mounted, widescreen TV – you can all get together for engaging conversation, for a marathon of your can’t-get-enough-of movies, or to catch TV shows you’ve been following closely. There are two dining areas. With its wooden table for eight, the indoor dining area is at the middle of the three sitting set ups. With its round, wooden table for six, the alfresco dining area is out on the upper-level balcony. Whichever dining area you prefer, you can all indulge in authentic local specialties – as well as Western staples – masterfully prepared by the in-house chef at the fully-equipped, ultra-modern kitchen beside one of the sitting set ups. You can also use the estate’s gym for free – so you don’t miss out on your workout even while you’re out of town.
Tasked to render the regular services of the villa is an efficient staff led by a manager supported by a personal guest assistant, a housekeeper, a pool attendant, a gardener and a security detail. Aside from the chef, a babysitter, a driver, a laundry helper and a spa therapist may be called in upon your request. However, their services come with a separate charge. Scooter, car and boat rentals are also available. Your booking also includes shuttle service from the estate’s main entrance to your villa and back, as well as all around the estate.
Villa Cattleya 5B is based in Patong – a buzzing beach town along Phuket’s western waterfront stretch. A short walk from the villa is Patong Beach – Phuket’s most popular destination. Stroll leisurely along its powdery, white sand then move on to Freedom Beach for some sunbathing, snorkeling, beach soccer and beach volleyball. Proceed to Paradise Beach for some swimming, and for Phuket’s biggest beach party – the Full Moon Beach Festival – especially when it’s a full moon that evening. On another day tour, hie off to the Phuket Wake Park and to Surf House Patong where more water fun awaits. While thrills – and spills – are in store at the Patong Go-Kart Speedway and at the Patong Boxing Stadium where Muay Thai domination is fiercely fought for. Ride the zip line, on your next day trip, above Phuket’s rainforest at the Flying Hanuman, then climb up to the cool and refreshing Kathu Waterfall. You also mustn’t miss the serious partying at Soi Bangla, as well as the glamor and glitter of Simon Cabaret.
My wife and I stayed in C5B 2- Bedroom Villa with 2 close friends of ours. I'll give you the honest pro's and con's of staying here at L'Orchidee Residences. We stayed for 6 days in the month of June, 2015. Perfect location, North end of Patong beach, great to walk to the beach or through the city/ night life. Tuk Tuk/ Taxi drivers have a hard time understanding how to take you back to the L'Orchidee residences even with the little map and address we gave them, which is crazy to me but if you just mention Novotel hotel on hill, you'll get back just fine. Pro's: Very specious, beautiful view of the beach, friendly staff that speaks good enough English to get by and communicate, daily maid service, free transportation to/from airport, dish tv to watch live sports or movies, Fast free WIFI. Not very many con's: Large construction building right in front of the L'Orchidee Residences which took away from some of the view, a villa down the hill in front of us had 2-3 dogs that would bark at everything including some early mornings, had an A/C leak but they took care of it immediately. We went during off season so the community/ recreation center was basically shut down but you would probably spend most of your time on the beach or in the city anyways. Overall, the people of Thailand are amazing and go well beyond the normal call of service. We would definitely rent out the villa again.
Cattelya C5b perfect for one or two couples. One week was not long enough. Location was excellent, close to beach, bars, restaurants, shopping etc. Daily maid service at nominated time, all staff very efficient and friendly. Stunning views, but very quiet as away from hustle and bustle. Immediate shuttle service available, just a phone call away, saves walking up or down hill. Private pool beautiful, villa had everything, and if not, just ask and you will have it. Hired resort boat for day to Phi Phi, staff were wonderful. Great experience, fully recommend L'Orchidee to everyone.
