Delighting in Taipan villa's incredibly picturesque location on one of the few remaining coastal areas of Phuket that retains a traditional charm, we...
Part of the Moon Cove Estate, Villa Taipan is a hidden treasure. Situated just a few meters back from the sands of the bay of Ao Yon. Secluded and not tourist-ridden, Ao Yon is idyllic, holding authentic traditions which are true to Thai culture. With traditional long tail boats puttering past the vibrant buoys and strings of the colourful pearl farm; the view from Villa Taipan's elevated height on the sweeping pool deck and the 12 meter infinity swimming pool is sure to keep you amazed. Down towards the beachfront is the shared garden of the Moon Cove Estate. Expansive in size, this is the perfect place for the children to run around and play in. At one corner, there is even a petanque pitch.
The top floor of the villa holds two bedrooms- the master suite and a twin room. Downstairs, there are 2 king sized bedrooms with the 'spare' bedroom being queen sized. At least partial sea views are offered from every bedroom, and the utmost privacy is also ensured.
The modern, well equipped kitchen is comfortable, with a sturdy wooden dining table placed in the glass fronted dining room. A set of Burmese style bamboo chairs are situated in the terrace, which leaves a perfect place for you to enjoy late afternoon cocktails.
Moon Cove Estate is staffed by two housekeepers and a groundsman, whom cater to all of the villas at Moon Cove Estate. Breakfast is included, and other meals can be cooked for you by the villa chef upon request.
With the promise of good service, facilities, privacy and security, Villa Taipan as part of the Moon Cove Estate has many more qualities to offer than your typical solitary villa. With stunning views and a tranquil setting, this villa is bound to make your holiday extra memorable.
Delighting in Taipan villa's incredibly picturesque location on one of the few remaining coastal areas of Phuket that retains a traditional charm, we sunk happily into a languid life here and were very reluctant to leave. Though life at the villa is relaxed, the bay is bustling, and we were perfectly content spending our day watching the comings and goings of the long-tail fishing boats and yachts, while wondering about the progress of the treasures hidden inside the dangling oysters at the pearl farm in the centre of the bay. Venturing down to the beach, we saw only a sprinkling of local families strolling the sands -- and no rental sunbeds or tourists in sight. Those who relish the chance to delve into the local culture of a place will really love staying here. This being a new villa, the owners are open to suggestions, however, so be sure to give advance notice of any requirements you may have for children's equipment, bedding or other facilities. Aside from the daily breakfast service, this is a self-catering villa but we do recommend hiring the on-call chef at least once – his seafood dishes are superb! Meals may be arranged with the villa manager. Though we were happy to lazily float in the villa's pool all day, it is worth venturing out for at least one afternoon to drive the scenic roads around the cape, with plenty of places to stop along the way to take in the views or enjoy a cool drink in a shady hut.
